James T. Volk is founder and Chairman of Origin Entertainment. In addition to his leadership, Volk brings extensive production, development, marketing and distribution strength to the team. Under the Origin banner, Volk raised a development fund to develop a slate of pictures and most recently produced I AM MORTAL and FATIMA, starring Harvey Keitel, Sonia Braga and Goran Visnjic, with an original theme song by Andrea Bocelli, distributed by Picturehouse, Myriad Pictures and Universal.  Volk will oversee Origin’s development fund and serve as producer on Origin’s slate of pictures.

Early in his career, Volk founded CineFolio, a talent promotion company, dedicated to custom filming and packaging talent, which included such actors as Steve Carell and Rachel Dratch.

As an early leader in the DVD industry, Volk co-founded SHORT Cinema Journal where he and his partners quickly became pioneers in the field of DVD content. SHORT Cinema Journal was the first Film DVD Magazine introduced to the market. Volk and SHORT Cinema Journal won wide acclaim throughout the media in such venues as Siskel & Ebert, Vanity Fair, GQ, New Yorker and Rolling Stone. Volk went on to secure distribution in more than 10,000 stores and formed strategic partnerships with Panasonic, Toshiba, Pioneer, Levi’s and BMW.

Volk also founded Broadcast DVD, a DVD publishing company where he served as Chairman and CEO. Volk produced more than a dozen DVD magazines, including the multiple award winning series “FilmFest” and critically acclaimed DVD Music Magazine “750 MPH.” Volk developed strategic partnerships with a majority of the world’s major film festivals including: Cannes, Toronto, Sundance and Berlin; worked with top industry actors and directors which included George Lucas, Jim Jarmusch, Sylvester Stallone, Heather Graham and Vince Vaughn; and formed partnerships with studios and labels including: Warner Brothers, DreamWorks and Universal.
