Impassioned by his pursuit of faith in the work place, David Fischer has raised millions of dollars in donations and investments to support innovative efforts aimed at transforming culture through faith-based initiatives. A high energy, goal driven and value-based executive, David approaches each new development challenge with passion, loyalty, creative problem-solving and strategic analysis earned from years of fund raising and investment experience.
David Fischer began his career in a unique environment surrounded by the arts and entertainment. With aspirations to perform, David pursued professional theatre in the early 1990’s where he acted in nearly 500 performances at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
From 1997 – 2001 David studied philosophy, theology and classical literature and earned a Bachelor’s degree in all three disciplines. In 2000 on a year’s stay in Rome, Italy, David was contacted by the Vatican to personally sing for His Holiness, Pope John Paul II at a private audience in His Holiness’s personal chapel. As a candidate for priesthood David found this opportunity an experience he would never forget. After returning to the United States, David decided not to pursue a vocation to priesthood, but rather to pursue a more secular vocation while maintaining a strong mission-focused heart. David subsequently earned his Juris Doctorate in law from the University of Saint Thomas and joined the Minnesota State Bar in 2006. Thereafter David earned his way as a trial attorney and prosecutor leading dozens of cases in front of the court and jury.
In 2007 David received a unique opportunity to work for The Catholic Community Foundation in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. As the country’s largest foundation serving Catholic philanthropy, David found this work to be a wonderful alignment of his skill set and core beliefs. From 2007 through 2011 David served as the Director of Gift Planning and Legal Affairs for the Catholic Community Foundation. Here David began to specialize in fundraising and investment opportunities. With over 200 million dollars in capital raised at the Foundation, David directed the gift planning and strategic legal analysis that helped to sustain a distribution of over 10 million dollars annually though endowment funds and other tax sheltered charitable vehicles. David helped hundreds of people with their philanthropy, crafting estate planning techniques and charitable intentions that not only aligned with their faith-based values but also created the best financial returns for their investments and donations.
With a well-developed sense for raising capital, an outstanding network and a strong desire to impact the culture through the arts, David joined Origin Entertainment as Chief Development Officer. His experience with value-based organizations, law and entertainment make for a wonderful calling to serve the Origin team and create exciting new possibilities for national exposure to the unique and transformative entertainment Origin Entertainment is proud to present.
